This annual tradition is a simple but important way to help our neighbors.  During the pandemic, demand is at an all-time high and organizations throughout the region are stepping up their participation.  One such organization is St. Mathew’s United Methodist Church.  In normal times, they provide food for about 30 families a month.  Since the pandemic, they have been serving 100 families a week, with people getting in line around 6:00 AM for the 10 AM distribution.  Please support this local food closet and our hungry neighbors.

Drop off your donations on January 16, 17 and 18 at 7900 Peyton Forest Trail.  Donations can be left on the steps at any time, but someone will be able to assist you between 9:00am – 1:00pm if you would prefer some help or just want to say “Hi”.

Items of particular need are: paper bags, cereal, pasta, pasta sauce, beans (dry or canned), soup, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, cans of fruit, cans of meat, cans of tuna, mac and cheese, small juices, packets of oatmeal, snack bars and crackers.

Thank you for any donation you can make at this critical time.
